(Wednesday, February 7, 2018) – As winter drags on, people look forward to warmer weather and use their imaginations to envision themselves doing cherished activities. For example, gardeners look at seed catalogs, and cyclists plan their bike rides.
NOACA hopes to tap into the imaginations and knowledge of cyclists in Medina and Lorain counties to help update its bicycle maps for those counties. The maps show the bike network in each county and identify categories, such as bike lanes, trails, and connectors to help cyclists choose appropriate routes for their abilities.
“As a service to our communities, we prepare bike maps for all five counties in our region,” said NOACA Executive Director Grace Gallucci. “They are a wealth of information for cyclists of every ability and help users to understand the network from a high level view – including routes which are appropriate for varying levels of skill. That’s why we need input from people of all ages and experience levels.”
Next week, NOACA will host public meetings to help inform the new maps for Medina and Lorain counties. The meetings are open house style, so people can stop by even if they can't attend the whole meeting.
“Local residents know the area best, so we’re looking for their valuable insights,” Gallucci said. “With their input, we can make our bike maps even more useful to all cyclists who ride in Northeast Ohio.”
The dates, times, and locations of the meetings are detailed below.
