(Monday, January 15, 2018) – At its meeting last Friday, January 12, the Board of Directors of the Northeast Ohio Areawide Coordinating Agency (NOACA) elected Cuyahoga County Executive Armond Budish to Board President for 2018. He has served on NOACA’s Board since his election to the post of Cuyahoga County Executive in 2015.
NOACA, which conducts transportation and environmental planning for Northeast Ohio, elects Board presidents to one-year terms.
As County Executive, Budish is committed to creating economic growth and opportunity by taking a coordinated and collaborative approach to building a strong and sustainable future. His administration’s three core strategic initiatives -- fairness and equity, job growth and opportunity, and government that gets results are all linked together. The goal? To make sure that every resident no matter the circumstances has the ability to build a better life.
Of what he hopes to accomplish while President of the NOACA Board, Budish said “One of my highest priorities is job creation, growth and attraction. Key to the success of economic development is transportation! Our tourism industry depends on good transportation; distribution of manufactured goods depends on good transportation; the ability of employees to get to work depends on good transportation. NOACA’s regional approach to transportation strengthens all of the counties of Northeast Ohio."
Budish served in the Ohio State House of Representatives from 2006-2014 and is the founder of law firm Budish, Solomon, Steiner, and Peck. Married and a father of two, Budish resides in Beachwood.
“County Executive Budish is a true visionary and a champion for Northeast Ohio,” said NOACA Executive Director Grace Gallucci. “He sincerely believes in the spirit of regionalism and believes that if we all work together, we all thrive. I very much look forward to working with him as President of our Board of Directors.”
