WheezerHello, my name is Wheezer the Forecasting Groundhog and you can:

Here are some air pollution sources:

Factory Smoke from power plants and factories let out chemicals that make the air dirty.
Truck    Diesel Trucks let out pollution from their old parts. New parts and engines can make them cleaner.
Schoolbus    When school buses have their engines running but are not moving it is called idling.
Pickup    Some cars and trucks make less pollution than others, like electric cars or hybrids. Help your parents find cars that are better for the air.
Campfire    Having a campfire may be fun but the burning leaves and wood put chemicals into the air. Rake your leaves and compost them by making piles.

Here are some things you can do to help:

Dad and Son    Walking makes you healthier and the air cleaner. Take a walk with your family and count all the things you see that you couldn't in the car. You may be surprised by all that you are missing.
Kid running    Running is healthy and fun! You can take short-cuts where cars and bikes can't go. If you have asthma, please check today's air quality forecast to make sure the air is healthy.
Bicycles   Bicycling - ride your bike to the store, school, practice, or your friend's house. Your parents can help you find the safest way by looking at NOACA's Bike Route Maps
Transit   Riding the bus is a great way to reduce air pollution. When you are riding look at all the people that can fit on the bus and imagine if they all drove cars. That would be a lot of cars and a lot of pollution!
Carpooling   Sharing the Ride. If buses do not come to your neighborhood, find out which of your teammates or classmates live nearby and ask you parents if you can all ride together.
